I finally bought MAC lipstick in Rebel. I’ve been wanting this for quite a while, and I’m so glad I bought it!
I’ll show you some pictures, then I’ll post my review below!
MAC – Rebel is a satin finish lipstick, which means it isn’t matte, but it isn’t shimmery either. It’s not drying at all, and isn’t 100% opaque. It looks pretty scary in the tube, but it doesn’t come off that dark on your lips. It has nice, buildable coverage, and can be very vibrant with only a couple of layers. This lipstick lasts about 5 hours on me, and can last longer, because it stains your lips a nice berry color. Also, I didn’t have any issues with it feathering, and I didn’t wear a lip liner with it.
The swatch is pretty accurate. This is the hardest color I’ve ever tried to explain, haha. It’s a deep plum, berry, even a bit magenta color. It’s got a strong purple tint to it. It’s almost what I’d consider vampy, and if you layered it over a darker lip liner, it could easily be a vampy plum color. This is going to be a great, versatile color for the fall.
I’ll be posting a look later this week using this lipstick, so you guys can see what it looks like on my lips.
In case you’ve never used a MAC lipstick before, you should know that they are all vanilla scented, but none have a taste, which is great! There are many different finishes, but Satin is my personal favorite.
MAC lipsticks retail for around $15. I love MAC lipsticks and I believe that they are worth the $15. Everyone that I’ve tried has had great pigmentation, lasting power, and are extremely smooth and easy to work with.
Also, MAC is offering free shipping on ALL purchases through December 31, 2012, so this is the perfect time to get it!
