The Too Faced Lip Injection Color Bomb is a product I’ve spent quite some time looking at but never purchasing. It was one of those things that I’d pick up and put back down every single time I went to Ulta, but never bought it because I just assumed it was over-hyped. Until a couple of weeks ago, when I finally bought one.
I grabbed the Too Faced Lip Injection Color Bomb in the shade Candy Burst, and I’m not going to lie, now I want the rest of them.
This is said to be a moisturizing, plumping lip tint. It’s supposed to boost your lip volume by 20%, while keeping your lips soft and moisturized.
So the big question is, does it work?
This does really work, and I’d say a 20% increase in volume is pretty accurate. I wear this almost daily now. The effect isn’t super long-lasting, only around 3 hours before my lips are back to normal, but that’s the point at which I’d normally reapply anyway so it’s no big deal to me.
I will warn you, this is a more intense plumper. It isn’t what I’d call painful, but it does really sting for about 5-10 minutes. I have a pretty high pain tolerance and I definitely feel it, but it’s far from unbearable or what I’d consider actually painful.
The color I got is Candy Burst, which is a light pink shade. It isn’t really pigmented, but does give a little bit of color and shine to the lips. It’s far from opaque color, but it’s not totally sheer.
I really want to pick up the nude and the berry shade.
These retail for $21 each at Ulta.
If you’re looking for a lip plumper that works, this is it. I definitely recommend trying it out. If you want to know what it feels like without purchasing, go to Ulta and swatch it on your hand and wait around for about 10 minutes.
