Current Affordable Brow Routine!

Since changing my hair color, I’ve had to buy all new brow products…again. I was using the Nyx Brow Gel, Micro Brow Pencil and Tinted Mascara, all in Blonde. I changed my hair color from blonde to red, so I had to grab new brow products from Ulta and I wanted to go ahead and review them for you.

Current Nyx Brow Product

Currently, I’m using the Nyx Micro Brow in Brunette with the Tinted Brow Mascara in Brunette. It’s just dark enough to look good with my hair color. I’ve never been a fan of myself with red brows, even when my hair is red, so I tend to stick to a deeper brown instead.

Brow Routine

I use the Nyx Micro Brow Pencil to draw in hairs where my brows are thinner, and to try to even them up a bit. I use the spoolie that’s attached to one end of the pencil to comb through and blend them so they look more natural. Then, I set them in place with the Nyx Tinted Brow Mascara. This stuff helps your brows to stay in place, but they will move around if you touch them. They’re not bulletproof. It’s like a light hold hairspray.

The Micro Brow Pencil is awesome. The end is tiny and not too dry. It’s easy to draw natural looking “hairs” with it, and it blends well. It doesn’t budge all day long. The Nyx Tinted Brow Mascara is similar to a light hold hair spray, as I mentioned above. It’s perfect for when my hair is up and out of my face, but if my hair is down, it moves my brows around and drives me crazy. I’m currently looking for a tinted brow gel with a stronger hold.

Brow Products Routine and Swatches

Overall, I recommend these products. They’re super inexpensive and get the job done. The Micro Brow retails for $9.99, the Tinted Brow Mascara retails for $6.99. You can normally grab them at Ulta for buy one, get one 50% off.

Let me know if you have any recommendations for a good tinted brow gel that doesn’t budge!

Thanks for reading!

xx
