Pixi is a cruelty free brand available at Target. Pixi is also available online from Pixibeauty.com. They have a wide range of beauty and skin care products available and are best known for their skin care line. Pixi Beauty is affordable, but on the higher end of the drugstore price range. The Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lips are one of the newer editions to their makeup line, and we’re going to talk all about them today.
Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lips are liquid lipsticks that dry down completely. They’re meant to be extremely pigmented and long lasting, not to mention super matte. The MatteLast Liquid Lips come in six shades; I have five of these to show you.
The bottles are small, square, and have the classic Pixi green cap. These do appear small but contain 0.24 oz of product. For comparison, ABH Liquid Lipsticks and Colourpop Liquid Lipsticks contain 0.11 oz of product. Urban Decay Vice Liquid Lipsticks contain 0.17 oz of product. So, the Pixi MatteLast lipsticks actually contain more product. The wand is the triangle shape with the opening in the center so it holds more product. I like this type of wand because it’s flexible, more user-friendly, and you don’t have to keep dipping the wand back in for more product.
The formula on the Pixi MatteLast lipsticks is a little different from others that I’ve tried. The formula is pretty thin in consistency, extremely pigmented, and dries quick enough but not too quick. Mistakes can easily be fixed before it dries down, and once it dries it doesn’t budge. It feels like nothing on the lips, I actually forget I’m wearing them which is a rarity with liquid lipsticks.
I have five of the six shades and they are all variations of nude shades, which I’m totally fine with. If there’s one thing the liquid lipstick world is lacking, it’s nudes.
- MATTE BEIGE
- EVENING ROSE
- AU NATURELLE
- REALLY ROSE
- PASTEL PETAL
You’ll notice Au Naturelle looks really orange on me. On the lips and in real life, it’s much more Terra-cotta than orange but for some reason, it’s bright orange in these photos.
I’ve worn them all, but I did not save lip swatches because DERP. However, I can attest to the formula and wear time of these. I’ve worn them and eaten, had drinks, etc. and they lasted. They will fade in the center if you’re eating oilier foods but for the most part, they stay on well. They don’t flake or crack throughout the day and I don’t feel like they’re too drying. Overall, I like them a lot. The range of colors seems good and I love that you get so much product.
You can find the Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lips on PixiBeauty.com, and at Target for $14.99 each.
